MILFORD, NH, May 22, 2005 — Citadel Computer Corporation today announced heated versions of its popular Vista-XL™ industrial touch screen computers. These configuration options support "in-freezer" and other sub-zero applications commonly found in food processing and extreme, weather-exposed environments.
Two configuration options are available: a heated touch screen providing "frost-free" display operation for mobile systems that encounter rapid shifts in ambient temperature (such as forklift-mounted systems tracking material in and out of a sub-zero storage facility) and/or an additional "system" heater, which facilitates start-up in extreme "cold-soaked" installations typical of remote, weather-exposed data logging applications.
These enhancements extend the Vista-XL™ system's operating temperature range and facilitate installations in challenging environments such as food processing or oil exploration on Alaska's North Slope.
All Vista-XL™ touch screen computers are engineered to deliver reliable performance despite challenging extremes of physical shock, vibration and temperature, and include fully-sealed configurations rated to NEMA-4X / IP-66.
